CEBU, Philippines - A 57-year-old man was killed in a vehicular accident while heading home in Sitio Curvada, Barangay Poblacion, San Remigio town, last Wednesday evening.
Federico Daanoy, of Barangay Punta, suffered severe injuries in different parts of his body after reportedly lost control of his motorcycle. He was rushed to the Severo Verallo District Hospital but was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician.
PO3 Felipe Mandal, desk officer, said Daanoy was driving his Haojue motorcycle when the incident happened around 8 p.m. when Daanoy was coming home from the fiesta celebration in Barangay Argawanon.
Mandal added as Daanoy traveled on the rough and ascending road, the wheels of the motorcycle slipped causing him to fall on the road.
He was reportedly under the influence of liquor at the time.
"Wala gyud siyay kontra hubog lang tingale unya possible nakatulog," Mandal said in a phone interview.
Mandal said Daanoy was traveling at high speed and was not wearing a helmet. (FREEMAN)
