CEBU, Philippines - The son of the late vice governor Gregorio Sanchez, Jr. and his friend were charged in court for alleged possession of illegal drugs and paraphernalia.
State prosecutor Ruso Zaragosa found probable cause to elevate before the court the case against Leodegreco “Greco†Sanchez and his friend Edward Teves. The prosecutor’s office recommended a bail of P240,000 each for both charges.
Sanchez and Teves opted to answer the charges in court instead of signing a waiver of detention to avail of their right to a preliminary investigation.
The two were arrested by the operatives of the Regional Special Operations Group (RSOG) in Tres Borces St. Mabolo last Friday evening. They were caught allegedly having a drug sniffing session.
RSOG operatives looked after Sanchez because of a complaint filed by his sister, Engr. Grecylda “Gigi’ Zaballero, for allegedly stealing their family’s yacht.
RSOG operatives were led to a place in Mabolo where they found Sanchez and Teves allegedly having drug session.
The police seized a pack of shabu from each of the accused and drug sniffing paraphernalia.
Sanchez denied the accusation of his sister, claiming that he could not be charged of stealing something that he also owns. (FREEMAN)
