Gwen woos Toledo voters

CEBU, Philippines - Suspended Governor Gwendolyn Garcia asked the people of Toledo City to support her in the coming elections during an outreach activity in Barangay Biga.

Garcia joined Mayor Rudy Espinosa and Vice Mayor Arlene Zambo in the Duaw Alagad where Espinosa officiated the wedding of 16 couples.

Duaw Alagad also gave free medical check-up and medicines, free haircut and free veterinary services while Garcia distributed free reading glasses.

Garcia, who is running for congress in the third district, asked the people for their support like what they have shown in the previous election.

“Dili gyud ko makalimot nga inyo akong gipadaug nganhi.  Aduna akoy 676 botos samtang ang akong kontra usa ka gatos kapin. Unta sa umaabot nga election, unta dili gihapon ko ninyo kalimtan. Unta ang kapin na lang ang para nila, ug ang usa ka gatos ipuno na lang na sa miaging mga nibotar,” Garcia said.

It was Garcia’s first time to visit the barangay.

Also present during the Duaw Alagad were the bets for councilors under Team Asenso Toledo of One Cebu Party.

Zambo said, the outreach program has been practiced for several years.  It aims at bringing basic services near to the people as fulfillment of the sacred duties of public servants.

Espinosa said that Duaw Alagad started in 1992 during his first term as mayor and was continued by Zambo when she was Toledo City Mayor.  (FREEMAN)
