For first district P1B projects submitted to RDC

CEBU, Philippines - Almost P1 billion worth of infrastructure projects in the first district of the Province of Cebu were submitted by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) to the Regional Development Council  – Central Visayas for inclusion in the 2014 budget.

A total of P904 million of infrastructure projects were submitted by District Engineer Daisy Toledo with the concurrence of Rep. Eduardo Gullas to the RDC for endorsement.

The Infrastructure Development Committee of the RDC-Central Visayas approved the budget proposal submitted for inclusion in the 2014 budget of the DPWH.

  These include the P200 million for the proposed construction of flyover at Poblacion, Minglanilla.

Other projects include the widening and concreting within road right of way along N. Bacalso Avenue starting from Naga City to San Fernando worth P150 million.

There is also a completion of the construction of Carcar City Bypass Road worth P50 million and construction of Linao-Cantabaco Road in Ta-lisay City and Minglanilla worth P150 million.

To decongest traffic from Talisay City to Minglanilla, the Cebu-Toledo Wharf Road shall be widened amounting to P50 million.

The amount of P50 million is for the preventive maintenance of Cebu South Coastal Road in Talisay City and another P50 million for the rehabilitation of paved Sibonga-Dumanjug road.

The Sibonga section of the Sibonga-Dumanjug road shall be paved in the amount of P74 million and also the Tapal (Carcar)-Zaragosa-Olango Aloguinsan Road in the amount of P40 million.

The construction of flood/erosion control along Candulawan, Bulacao, Talisay City and in Uling Bridge in Naga City will cost P20 million each.

Being declared as tourism destination, the diversion road of the Carcar City Heritage Area will cost P50 million. — (FREEMAN)
