CEBU, Philippines - The Capitol is now preparing the deed of absolute sale of the five homeowners associations comprised of 399 families who have already complied with the requirements in acquiring the province-owned lots in Cebu City previously known as the 93-1 lots.
These are the Hilltop Nivel Hills Lot 1405 Homeowners Association, Inc. in barangay Lahug and the Langub Riverside Homeowners Association, Valle Estrella Homeowners Association, South Bus Terminal Homeowners Association and Kalunasan United Livelihood Homeowners Association, all in barangay Kalunasan, Cebu City.
The Province of Cebu will be earning P88.6 million from the sale of the said lots.
Capitol consultant on legal and media affairs, Dara Acusar, said that the Provincial Board still has to review the documentation before the deed of conveyance shall be issued.
Once approved, the PB will then authorize acting Governor Agnes Magpale to sign the deed of conveyance to transfer lot ownership in favor of the groups.
“They have now fully complied, they are ready to pay,†Acusar said.
There were more than 20 homeowners associations that signed a memorandum of agreement with suspended Governor Gwendolyn Garcia for the purchase of the province-owned lots they are occupying located in Cebu City.
The agreed prices ranged from P2,133.33 per square meter to P13,960 per square meter depending on the location within Cebu City.
Those who have manifested their intent to buy will be required to comply with the requirements of financing agencies like Pag-Ibig Fund, to avail of the low-cost housing program of the government.
The Capitol is selling the lots covered by Ordinance 93-1 to its actual occupants per subdivided block.
The total cost of the lot will be paid in lump sum to the provincial government by the financing agencies, which will in turn collect monthly amortizations from the homeowners.
Vice President Jejomar Binay, the chairman of the Housing and Urban Development Coordinating Council, helped the Capitol in the negotiations to finally solve the 93-1 issue. —/BRP (FREEMAN)
