Palawan educational tour for PB members

CEBU, Philippines - The members of the Cebu Provincial Board (PB) are set to go to Puerto Princesa City in Palawan for an educational tour on February 21 to 23, 2013.

The Cebu PB members will join their colleagues from the provinces of Bohol, Negros Oriental and Siquijor comprising the PB Members League of the Philippines (PBMLP) Central Visayas Chapter.

PBMLP 7 regional chairman Arturo Pacatang of Siquijor extended the invitation to the members for the said educational tour that will focus on eco-tourism and environment.

Pacatang said that the activity has prior authorization from the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG).

A registration fee of P12,000 is required from each of the participants to cover the cost of food, accommodation, honoraria and other incidental expenses.

Registration fee and traveling expenses should be charged against the appropriate local funds.

Also invited to participate are the ex-officio members such as the presidents of the Philippine Councilors League, Liga ng mga Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Federation in the respective provinces.

The office of acting Vice Governor Julian Daan has already prepared the authority to travel of the 14 PB members and two staff members subject to the approval of acting Governor Agnes Magpale.

The activities on day one include courtesy call to Puerto Princesa City Mayor Edward Hagedorn then the visit to Crocodile Farm, Mitra’s Farm and Ranch, Baker’s Hill, Binuatan Creation which is known in making different bags, wallets, and souvenir items made of grasses.

There will be a running tour at the City Tourism Office, Sport Complex, City Coliseum, Baywalk, Immaculate Conception Cathedral, Plaza Cuartel and Souvenir Shops.

The day two will be focused on the tour at Puerto Princesa Underground River which was recently declared as one of the New 7 Wonders of Nature.  (FREEMAN)
