Migz Zubiri hails Cebuanos

CEBU, Philippines - Former senator Juan Miguel Zubiri said he was elated that the party’s proclamation rally was held in Cebu.

“This beautiful province is very close to my heart. I treasure the love and support that Cebuanos continue to give me. Every time I visit here, their enthusiasm remains the same”, said Zubiri, United Nationalist Alliance (UNA) senatorial candidate.

Fluent in Cebuano, Zubiri is closest to Cebu in terms of ethnic connection.

He is related to some personalities in the province, one of those was Ben Zubiri, his uncle who composed the very popular “Matud Nila.”

“I will address our kababayans in their local dialect since I am truly proud to be a Cebuano. I am the only candidate in the UNA slate who came from this region”, Zubiri said.

“When I was still a Senator, Cebu is one of the provinces that benefit from my Priority Development Assistance Fund or PDAF. I allotted millions of pesos for the rehabilitation of Vicente Sotto Medical Center and put funds in every towns and cities for my program, “One town, One project of Migz Zubiri”, the former Senator said

Cebu is a strategic choice for UNA. With more than 2.5 million registered voters, the highest among all provinces in the country, the province can very well influence the results of a national election.

“Cebu is a vote rich province and it happened in the past that it can deliver victory. I believe UNA will win in Cebu and even in the whole Region 7 as well for the upcoming May elections,” Zubiri said. – (FREEMAN)
