CEBU, Philippines - A suspected drug pusher was shot dead by still unidentified gunman outside his house in Barangay Sangat, San Fernando Tuesday evening.
Richard Canoy, 40, sustained a single gunshot wound in the head.
The police are looking into Canoy’s alleged involvement in the illegal drugs as the possible motive in his killing.
The police found several drug paraphernalia in Canoy’s house during the ocular inspection.
The police also found one empty shell of unknown caliber of firearm near the victim’s body.
SPO1 Francisco Salubre, investigator, said Canoy was involved in drug business in the barangay. In fact, he was believed to be have been repacking shabu before he was shot dead.
“Sa amo lang tan-aw murag nakatambling nig kwarta o ba kaha wala magkasinabot sa bahin (We suspect that he failed to remit the money or they have misunderstanding in the sharing) “ Salubre said.
“So far wala pa mi identity kay wala may nakakita bisan ug adunay silingan sa unahan, gabii man pud gud nahitabo” Salubre added.
Canoy is reportedly in the police watchlist of drug personalities in the town. He was tagged as level two drug pusher who could dispose 200 grams of shabu weekly. (FREEMAN)
