Drug pusher arrested
CEBU, Philippines - Several packs of shabu and drug paraphernalia were seized by the Carcar City police from an alleged pusher shortly before midnight Thursday in Sitio San Isidro, Barangay Perrelos, Carcar City.
Police arrested Renaldo Cañas Alcorcon, 44, by virtue of a search warrant signed by Hon. Silvestre Maamo Jr.
During the implementation of the warrant, police recovered a Black box containing assorted drug paraphernalia used in repacking shabu.
Also recovered were a pink plastic container containing five small packs, a yellow plastic container containing 11 small packs and an empty Vicks vapor rub containing ten small plastic packs of shabu.
The evidence were taken to the Philippine National Police Crime Laboratory-7 in Camp Sotero Cabahug for chemical analysis.
PO2 Rosendo Binondo, Carcar City police investigator, said Alcorcon was one of the noted drug pushers in the barangay and was in the watchlist of the police station.
Binondo added that when they verified Alcorcon’s illegal activity for more than a week, they then applied a search warrant against him.
Alcorcon was arrested inside his house where pieces of evidence were also recovered during the search.
Police also found an alleged drug den at the back of Alcorcon’s house.
Based on intelligence reports, Alcorcon could dispose of at least 200 small packs of shabu worth P50,000 in a week.
“Diha lang gyud iyang area sa barangay iyang mga customer mutuyo lang gyud og anha,” Binondo said in a phone interview. (His customers would go to the barangay just to buy illegal drugs from him.)
Alcorcon is now detained at the Carcar City stockade pending charges for violation of Sections 5 and 11 of the Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (FREEMAN)
