CEBU, Philippines - Shangri–La’s Mactan Resort & Spa is included in the Conde Nast Traveler’s list of top 15 resorts in Asia.
According to an article in ABS-CBNnews.com, the Conde Nast Traveler, an influential travel magazine, released in its November issue its Reader’s Choice Award for 2012 the top 15 best resorts in Asia and the top 20 best hotels in Southeast Asia.
In the said survey, Shangri-La’s Mactan Resort & Spa in Cebu scored 84.8 to occupy the 12th spot while Shangri–La’s Boracay Resort & Spa got the seventh place after scoring 88.5 points.
It was the Taj Exotica Resort and Spa in Maldives that was voted as the number one resort in Asia.
Meanwhile, in the hotel category, two Shangri-La Hotels in the Philippines made it to the top 20 hotels in Southeast Asia.
In the said survey, Makati Shangri-La Hotel, located at the heart of the Ayala Center, got the fifth spot after having a rating of 90.9 points with impressive compliments for its rooms and services.
Edsa Shangri-La Hotel in Ortigas Center landed on the seventh spot with a score of 90.3 while the Manila Hotel completed the top 20 list after being rated 82.5 points.
Bali resorts, Amandari and Amankita, got the top two spots, respectively. Amandari scored 94.8 while Amankita has a rating of 93.3 points.
High-profile hotels like The Fullerton Hotel in Singapore and Ritz Carlton Millennia Singapore, occupied the sixth and 15th spots, respectively.
Two Bali resorts topped the list with Amandari taking the top spot with a score of 94.8 and Amankila at No. 2 with a score of 93.3.
According to ABS-CBNnews.com, the Conde Nast Travel magazine’s 2012 Readers’ Choice Survey received 46,476 responses.
The said website added that the candidates were rated on a five-point scale: excellent, very good, good, fair and poor. The scores, representing percentage for the ratings for excellent and very good, are averaged to calculate the final score published in the magazine. — (FREEMAN)
