Congressman Benhur Salimbangon, the well-respected and well-loved congressman of the 4th district, will bid goodbye to his constituents as he leaves his post on June 30. His lovely wife Janice, newly-elected congresswoman of the same district, takes over the helm as she is now the representative of the people of the 4th district of Cebu.
Thus, last Friday, May 31, Benhur and Janice had a joint grand birthday celebration at the Radis-son Blu, of course with relatives and friends as well as the elected mayors, vice mayors and some councilors of the 4th district. Special guest was a dear friend of the Salimbangon family, Gover-nor-elect Gwendolyn “Gwen” Garcia.
Sumptuous dinner over, a two-hour program followed with mostly “thank you” speeches from Daphne Salimbangon, mayors, and vice mayors who won during the mid-term elections, and Cong. Benhur thanked all who supported them, most especially to his sister, Dame Mariquita and husband Carlos Yeung for their magnanimous support. Governor Gwen also thanked her sup-porters who gave her a landslide victory. The last to speak was the birthday lady who poured out her feelings of happiness, grateful to all the people in the 4th district for giving her the unexpected victory. Of course she thanked the Almighty God for all these blessings. After all the speeches, Congresswoman Janice blew the candles on her beautiful cake, a gift from her friends in the MSY Club.
Indeed, the celebration was the most beautiful and wonderful for the outgoing Congressman Benhur and the incoming Congresswoman Janice Salimbangon.
Cheers and God bless!
