On July 7, 8 and 9, the Class of 1993 Section - B of the Cebu City Medical Center College of Nursing held their 25th year grand reunion in Cebu City. Alumni from all over the world came home to celebrate the special occasion for the very first time since they all had graduated 25 years ago. Some came from all over the US, Canada, Ireland and Australia just to reconnect and make new memories with fellow classmates here in Cebu.
The festivities started on Saturday with an outreach program at the Children`s Home Care of Lapu-Lapu City, where they spent time with children with different social needs. The children were provided sumptuous meal and given care packages as well. The second night was the one of the highlights of this reunion.
They held a gala at Radisson Blu Hotel, where guest were treated to a red carpet entrance, a fancy dinner, live band music and entertainment were all enjoyed. Everyone were all dolled up and looking chic with the ladies in their evening gowns and the men in their handsome suits and traditional barong. All had a lot of fun catching up while having a great time dancing the night away.
The three-day event was concluded with a beach party at the Maribago Blue Waters Resort that Monday, together with family and friends. All looked festive wearing all white against the blue water background. Time was spent well with reminiscing down memory lane as well as catching up on the latest gossips. Thanks to technology and social media, the group has not had a hard time keeping in touch with each other through the years.
The 24 classmates from the class of 54 who attended the festivities were the following: Joy Largo, Sol Repollo, Edelyn Laput, Glicel Trocio, Clyde Merinello, Ophelia Largo, Lariosa Lacaba, Noemi Opsima, Leonora Lasola, and Prosepina Kangkee from Cebu City. From the United States are Edgar Lopez, Venus Lanawan, Marjorie Samson and Naty Dela Pena from Northern California, Jerry Localocay and Olive Momongan from Los Angeles, California; Oida Perez from Wisconsin, Paul Kim Senerpida and Charmaine Repollo from Texas, Jubilee Morata from Las Vegas, Abigail Ondevilla and Jane Zarcipe from Florida; Noreen Yee all the way from Ireland as well as Marven Utom from Brisbane, Australia.
