Benhur and Janice: Happy Together

CEBU, Philippines —  A birthday is an occasion worthy of a celebration, most especially when two people in love celebrate it together. 

Cebu Fourth District Representative Benhur Salimbangon and his wife, Janice, had their joint birthday celebration last June 3 with loving company of friends and family. Everyone were treated to a truly delectable dinner, of course with lechon and overflowing wine. The celebratory mood was complemented by the music of the three live bands.

Since Benhur is currently on his last term as congressman, and political leaders in his district came all the way to celebrate with him and Janice, who is groomed to take the post which will soon be vacated by her husband.

Former Cebu Governor and now Deputy Speaker Gwendolyn Garcia delivered a heartwarming speech where she recalled that Benhur has remained her “brother,” who stays with her not just through the good times but most especially through the bad times.

“My dear brother Benhur, though you may not be flesh of my flesh or bone of my bone but you are heart of my heart and soul of my soul,” said Gwen drawing cheers from the crowd.

Benhur’s younger sister Mariquita Salimbangon-Yeung, in her speech recalls how their late father wanted him to be a congressman and their family was so glad that Benhur made it not just once but four times over.

The happy night at Radisson Blu ended with Benhur thanking everyone who came, who in turn wished the couple all the best in life..
