Life is short, cherish every moment of it

LIFE'S ESSENCE - Katherine R. Oyson - The Freeman

The Womenworking.com declares, “Life is too short. Grudges are a waste of time, so laugh when you can, apologize when you must, and let go of what can’t be changed. Love what you’ve got, and always remember what you had. Forgive but never forget. People change, and things go wrong, but remember through it all…life goes on.”

Vernon Grounds shares the same view in the Our Daily Bread, Vol. 18.  “Some says that life is like the flickering flame of a candle. When the flame is snuffed out, the light is gone forever. They believe  that when we breathe our last breath, we are totally extinguished – as if we had never been. Hence, let’s cherish life every moment of  life.”

An unknown writer has this point of view. He asserts, “I pass this world but only once; anything that I can do, or any kindness that I can show, let me do it now. Let me not defer it for I shall not pass this way again.”

And one actress said, “Life is short. Dance as if no one is watching. Celebrate life.”

These different messages point out that no matter what we are in life, no matter what status we belong to, no matter what circumstances we are confronted with, we should  cherish life. Because the only moment that we have is  this present moment. If  we have some discontentment  and are always complaining, bear in mind that there are people in this very moment who are struggling for their last breathe.  If you were able to wake up, be thankful. Lets’ be happy that God give us the gift of life.

Life should be cherished. You may ask “why?” Sherry Riter of “The Redhead Riter blog” cites the following reasons:

Life changes constantly. Actually life goes by so quickly sometimes you don’t even notice all the changes that have been happening. Every minute of your life has an expiration date which is “Now.” Once a moment has passed, it is gone forever except in our memories. Cherishing moment as they happen will not only help you feel thankful for life, but also help you to have a more positive and happy outlook.

At the end of your life, you don’t want to regret all the things you didn’t attempt or recognize. Nothing hurts or stings worse than regret both of things we shouldn’t have done or things we should have done, but didn’t do. I’m sure you can think of a few times in your life that you regret and those experiences are usually never far from your mind.

Every moment is unique. We get one life experience and only one shot at life.  The value of life is priceless. No two lives are exactly the same because no two people are exactly the same. Every person is unique and since every minute of life is unique, we have the opportunity to cherish them all.

Life is a beautiful gift. No  amount of money can buy anyone another life. Therefore, life is a beautiful gift that we should cherish.

Your life could end at any moment. None of us know when we are going to die. Therefore, it is important that we don’t procrastinate cherishing every moment in our life.
