CEBU, Philippines - A Metro Manila ice cream brand takes a somewhat different path in offering the well-loved cold treat – effectively raising the bar on how premium ice cream should be. Carmen’s Best Ice Cream goes the extra mile with its “pure indulgence with every spoonfool” tagline – offering delectable ice cream made with no water, no additives, no elements of vast mass-production.

The brainchild of Paco Magsaysay, the brand sources its milk from the only fresh milk processing plant in the country in Laguna since its founding six years ago. The ice cream is made “old-fashioned way,” with flavors ranging from the traditional vanilla, with vanilla beans from Madagascar, to a blend called “Malted Milk,” with Horlicks malted milk powder from England.

Each one of the brand’s 40 flavors is made “from the ground up,” meaning there’s no standard base that only gets added with flavors. Currently available in Cebu at Bo’s Coffee, Carmen’s Best Ice Cream will soon be available in various retail venues. (YRST). (FREEMAN)
