CEBU, Philippines - The Cebu Food and Beverages Exposition or CEFBEX is now running on its 8th instalment and remains committed in its mission to nurture and grow the region's food and beverage industry - one world-class food show at a time. Happening on October 13 to 16, from 10 a.m. to 8.p.m. at the SM City Cebu Trade Hall, CEFBEX 2016 comes with a bigger and bolder presentation as it gathers 100 participating companies and sets up a compelling lineup of pocket events and activities.
This year, CEFBEX seeks to turn the spotlight on the region's crop of up-and-coming talents in the culinary field. The event has sought the partnership of the region's top culinary schools and universities for this year's CEFBEX Culinary Cup: Interschool Division.
Among the participating schools are the University of Cebu - Lapu Lapu and Mandaue Campus, University of Visayas, Benedicto Colleges, CTU Danao Campus, University of San Carlos, University of Cebu, Philippine School of Culinary Arts, and University of Southern Philippines. The event will also be presented with the support of SM City Cebu, Food Source, NFAF Marketing Services, Pik-a-pikel, Delimondo, Crystal Clear, Cebu Farmers Market, and Most Reliable Industries Corporation.
This year's range of competitions includes categories such as the Cake Decorating and the Fruit and Vegetable Carving categories. Also, there are the Market Basket Competition and the Pasta Live Cookery, which aim to test the creativity, resourcefulness, and originality of student chefs, as well as Table Set-up and Napkin Folding categories that also highlights this year's culinary cup to recognize the tediousness and skills involved in the field of hospitality.
At CEFBEX 2016, aspiring industry professionals are given a venue to showcase their capabilities. Likewise, the F&B industry is given an opportunity to get up close and personal with emerging new talents. Admission to the event is free. CEFBEX 2016 is organized by Worldbex Services International.
