Pope Francis on all avenues of communication: "…a gift of God which involves great responsibility"
Pope Francis' sentiments towards all avenues of communication, including text messages and social networks, was a talked-about topic in various social media channels over the weekend, after posts that quote the pontiff circulated online.
The quote - which reads "[all avenues of communication are] a gift of God which involves great responsibility" - was taken from the pope's message for the upcoming 50th World Day of Communications, set for May 8 this year.
Online reports note that the message was released at around the time the pope was engaged in a private audience with Apple Chief Executive Tim Cook at the Vatican last week.
Other than the "gift of God" quote, sections of the pope's message were also shared by many on Facebook and Twitter, mostly snipped from the part of the message that says: "Emails, text messages, social networks and chats can also be fully human forms of communication. It is not technology which determines whether or not communication is authentic, but rather the human heart and our capacity to use wisely the means at our disposal."
The pope's message further reads: "Social networks can facilitate relationships and promote the good of society, but they can also lead to further polarization and division between individuals and groups." The message in full is at www.vatican.va.
Apple to announce a new iPhone model by March?
Word of Apple gearing up to announce a new iPhone model by March or early April has recently come about.
A report, published by the 9to5Mac website last week, reveals that the company intends to release an updated version of the iPhone 5s - the 4-inch iPhone model introduced in 2013.
The unit is expected to be named "iPhone 5se." It is reportedly deviced for electronic consumers who prefer to use an iPhone with a screen that measures less than 4.7-inches (like the screen size of the iPhone 6s or iPhone 6s Plus).
It is still unclear if the rumored "iPhone 5se" will be announced by the second quarter of 2016, but as in similar past scenarios, 9to5Mac's "forecast" about the "iPhone 5se" might just be spot-on.
