CEBU, Philippines – From November 7 to 15, an explosion of flavors may be enjoyed at Café Marco of Marco Polo Plaza as the restaurant explores the rich cuisine of India. It’s a feast of authentic Indian dishes like chicken tandoori, lamb shish kebab, chili pakoora, fish massala, vegetable biryani and so much more!
In celebration of the Hindu Festival of Lights, Marco Polo Plaza introduces an exciting Culinary Journey – “Khana: A Celebration of Indian Cuisine.”
Khana, in Hindi, means “food.” Indian dishes are one of the most colorful and diverse cuisines in the world. The blend of Indian spices, herbs, even vegetables and fruits make a very unique taste. Indian cuisine is inspired by their religious and cultural traditions, which dictate the dietary trend in Indian society.
Through the guidance of Ms. Judeline Murjani, the world-class Marco Polo chefs prepare mouthwatering delectable dishes to suit every diner’s appetite. Ms. Murjani is the president of the Murjani Group of Companies that handles retail and franchise businesses. In 1993, when there were yet no Indian restaurants in Cebu, she would whip up authentic Indian dishes in her kitchen and had these delivered to offices and homes of Indian nationals or vegetarians. This passion to cook Indian food has been influenced by her husband – Devidas Murjani, son of an Indian chef.
Khana promises to be an exciting culinary journey. And it takes only going up to Nivel Hills to celebrate the Festival of Lights and experience a wonderful week of authentic Indian dishes – at Marco Polo Plaza!
