Kids at the Museum: Fo Guang Shan Chu Un Temple

Yasunari Ramon Suarez Taguchi - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines – More than 130 kids from 5 barangays – T. Padilla, Zapatera, Cogon-Ramos, Parian and Mabolo – participated in the second leg of “Kids at the Museum 2015.”

On Saturday, October 17, the venue was the Fo Guan Shan Chu Un Temple along V. Rama Avenue. Activities such as a basic calligraphy workshop, storytelling sessions, basic dance performance lessons and games were the highlights of the fun-filled occasion.

“Kids at the Museum” is one of the many programs spearheaded by the Culture and Heritage Unit of the Ramon Aboitiz Foundation Inc. (RAFI), in partnership with certain museums and heritage sites in the metro.

The activity takes place on all Saturdays of October – aimed at helping children appreciate museums as venues for learning and open them up to the richness and diversity of Cebuano culture and heritage.

This coming Saturday, the project goes to the Cathedral Museum of Cebu, with its culmination scheduled to take place at Fort San Pedro this October 31.

More information on “Kids at the Museum” is at www.rafi.org.ph.
