CEBU, Philippines- A new no-frills venue that serves a selection of scrumptious sandwiches and quick lunch orders has opened at the ground floor of the Robinson's Cybergate mall, in the Fuente Osmeña area. The recent opening of Luncheonette: American Short Order comes hot on the heels of the Abaca Baking Company at the Crossroads in Banilad, which opened early this year.
Among Luncheonette's popular favorites are its "Reuben" and "Jake Hot Chicken" sandwiches. The other items on its menu are fast gaining attention too - especially the "Luncheonette Burger," "Loaded Fries," "Bacon Melt," "Tuna Melt" and "Patty Melt" sandwiches.
With a menu consisting of all-day-breakfast selections and house comfort food specials, the city has a new destination for quick no-frills-meals - Luncheonette: American Short Order. The diner is part of the Abaca Group.
Filipino Cuisine Fusion
In the past couple of years, elite gourmands have frowned on fusion cuisine. The collective preference has been for specific and authentic culinary flavors. But this is likely to change.
A Filipino specialty restaurant that recently opened at the Gaisano Mactan Island Mall 2 in Lapu-Lapu City serves fusion cuisine, featuring popular Filipino culinary favorites. Luwag Native Seafood Grill welcomes everyone on the lookout for good food, afternoon treat or beverage. While Filipino cuisine is often equated with the words "native," "seafood" and "grill," this restaurant goes beyond the usual grilled dishes and soups. It serves novel twists to well-loved Pinoy dishes and merging it with international culinary standouts.
From its chirashi sushi-inspired "Seafood Rice" to its Mediterranean cuisine-inspired salads, all of Luwag's offerings are made from house recipes - prepared with an out-of-the-box approach that doesn't reinvent a dish, but rather enhances it. The bottom line is the use of fresh and choice ingredients.
