The festival is an annual event in Cebu. It aims to help give international exposure to documentary films from Cebu and the rest of the Philippines. It also serves as a benchmark for all documentary film makers, film producers, and global media interested to come to Cebu for a film event.
The documentary film is chosen as the festival's genre, because it is "particularly a compelling visual medium. It brings about progressive change by breaking down barriers to understanding. It sheds light on social issues, tells stories about cultures and communities; it uplifts human dignity by amplifying the voices of the victims of social injustice. It is powerful and it is real."
All film screenings and other festival events are open to the public for free - except the Production Workshop on August 15. Inquiries may be addressed to Care at 0917-3188835.
