The V and the Ramage

Less than a year after its first visit to the city, Louis Vuitton held its second trunk show in Cebu at the Ocean Pavilion of Shangri-La's Mactan Resort & Spa last June 7, 8, and 9. Featuring their summer collection centered on two main stories, "The V" and the "Ramage," it was a treat for Louis Vuitton aficionados.

The V print is inspired by the famous advertisement of 1965 with the "Volez, Voguez, Voyagez avec des Valises Louis Vuitton." While the first edition was published in black and white, the iconic signature is reinterpreted for this collection in summery and playful tones matching the Epi seasonal colors of grenade and turquoise.

The Ramage print is inspired by dots and ramage patterns of the Cruise 2015 ready-to-wear looks, which are combined in a graphic and feminine print matching the seasonal Epi color, grenade.

During the opening brunch cocktail on June 7, Cebu's A-list set was treated to free-flowing champagne and inventive canapés. As well, one of the highlights of the brunch was guests being able to get their portraits done by illustrator Peterich Chiuwan in the style of a high fashion-inspired quick sketch.
