Dr. Suga Sotto Yuvienco, the OB-GYNE icon, was honored by her children… Minnie, Merito Jr., Eugene, Christopher and Jose Mari at a dinner held at the City Sports Club when she turned 96 years old on February 21. Dr. Suga still looked hale and hearty except, of course, for the fact that she can no longer stand on her feet for long. But during her birthday, she looked good.
Of the five children, only three were present while the two were in the U.S. Several entertainment numbers while dinner was going on, was the presentation of an Elvis Presley-look-alike, Candido Yuvienco, Jr. who was actually garbed in an Elvis costume. Candido came all the way from Cavite City. Another number came from Helen Gamboa, wife of Senator Tito Sotto who belted out a beautiful Tagalog song. Last year, when Dr. Suga turned 95, Senator Tito Sotto rendered two songs. This time he couldn't do it since he had a sore throat. He told us newshens.
At any rate, the gathering of relatives and friends made Dr. Suga Sotto Yuvienco so happy that evening!
