CEBU, Philippines - Internationally renowned pianist Dr. Ingrid Sala Santamaria had her book launch "My Four Seasons" with 3-CC Series feature at Salon de Madrid, Casino Español de Cebu a forthnight ago. Invited to the launch were her relatives, friends from the media, music enthusiasts and those from the academe. Special guests were Governor Hilario "Junjun" Davide III and his lovely wife Mrs. Jobel Angan Davide.

Before the program started, all the guests were treated to a delectable merienda. After which, the afternoon event began with a Welcome Remarks by Ingrid's good friend Jaime Picornell, who did a beautiful revelation which brought many wonderful memories of Ingrid's life. This was followed by a video presentation on the book. Later, Ingrid gave five books to universities and institutions: Lilu Alino - St. Theresa's College; Lourdes Jereza - University of Southern Philippines Foundation; John Gregory Escario - Cebu Institute of Technology-University; Hernaez Gomos - University of Cebu; and Lita Quisumbing accepted the book in behalf of Dr. Norberto Quisumbing. On the other hand, Ingrid had book gift presentation to Cebu media, viz: Jaime Picornell - Cebu Daily News; Honey Loop - Philippine Star; Jenara Newman - SunStar Cebu, Flor S. Ynclino - The Freeman and Pablo Tariman - Philippine Daily Inquirer.

When the program was almost about to end, Ingrid went up the dais where the piano was, and with usual poise, started to play Mendelsohn Concerto No. 1 in G Minor, and all eyes were on her, as if everyone's heart stopped as her fingers roared on the ivory keys; as she showered her power, prowess and dexterity in playing the piano. Of course, with grace and elegance!

As the crowd shouted "encore," Ingrid obliged with the same piece. She was terrific and for us… Ingrid Sala Santamaria is extraordinary and an accomplished pianist beyond compare! Congratulations and more power!

Merry Christmas and a Prosperous New Year to one and all!
