Focusing Your Life with Feng Shui

Over dinner and wine, in one enchanted evening, and letting the wine speak so to speak!, the conversation with my client-hosts turned out to be a crash course on feng shui 101.

It centered on the differences of why each person has a different feng shui and feng shui element. Which at the end of the day, thru latent learning, you as reader inclusive will realize, that one's feng shui and feng shui element is all but one and the same! Eureka?

Not just eureka but if you will really get our lesson today, its satori, nivana, enlightenment, the power of now, call it whatever you want, but it simply leads you to becoming sophrosyne. And enjoy the joy of being!

Yes, being you! How do you do this? By focusing your life with feng shui.

Let us go back to the question of my host then, no less than Cong. Gwen Garcia: Why is it that each person has different elements? Why not all the same?

Our dinner turned into a mini feng shui class with  three students in attendance, Paolo (Cong. Gwen’s son) and his wife. And for this column, you are a welcome classmate too! So... let us begin!

Feng shui derives itself from the classic philosophy of the Book of Changes or I Ching. By which all life cycle changes are depicted by kuas (from the word kua) also called gua (as in the octagon pakua or bagua, the Chinese geomancy or feng shui mirror seen atop Chinatown homes and stores).

Eight kuas represent the eight directions of the compass and life. Each kua represents a particular human or living thing life energy under feng shui teaching.

Each person when born, just like the early computer diskettes of old, gets initialized or programmed with the life energy or kua of that particular time and year of birth! As each human being's DNA is empowered by that life energy derived by from the unique kua in turn becoming that person's signature chi or human life energy that gives animo or vitality to the workings of the network of human energy meridians and chakras in his or her being!

And it is the purpose of feng shui to let each human being be attuned to his or her kua life energies by the proper arrangement of one's environment, especially at home and at work and ultimately, in death, in the burial place.

Each person's kua or life energy configuration can be calculated under feng shui science. Many decoders exist for this purpose - just beware of fake ones now proliferating online and even publishing feng shui books!

Knowing one's kua leads to knowing one's four auspicious chi directions especially the sheng chi or the best for abundance and prosperity.

Also four bad directions, namely three bad ones and one worst one that spells disaster - loss of life or wealth!

Which to my small class of three then, and now several who are reading jointly, I specifically point out to note your individual sheng chi direction. For it also defines your unique feng shui element that will balance your energies homeostatically towards good health, happiness, prosperity without effort (hiyang!) abundantly and prepoderantly!

Akin to psychology being the study of personality, this similarly explains the theory of individual differences even when it comes to harnessing one's luck in feng shui!

So there, if you know your true feng shui balancing element that will give impetus to your personal progress, you will know how to navigate your fortunes, and even alter your destiny (whatever any fortuneteller or manghuhula says!).

This is the only way you can focus your life with feng shui and have a life! What better way to enjoy life? Better, not bitter. What's your sheng chi? (FREEMAN)
