CEBU, Philippines - Whether it is a snack or desert you're looking for, waffles are one of the options to satisfy your sweet craving.
A wide range of both sweet and savory waffles with authentic Belgian flavor has come to Cebu. Using only imported ingredients and waffle irons specially flown in from Belgium, the two-week-old WakiWaffle at Ayala Center Cebu Active Zone offers two waffles varieties: the light and crispy waffle and the soft and chewy waffle. On top of that, customers may literally choose their own waffle toppings; chocolate syrup, peanut butter, or cream cheese. And, if desired, there's also whip cream, ice cream, and fruits.
Aside from that, there are also set waffle options of different flavors and designs, such as blue berry waffle, oreos-and-cream waffle, mango float waffle, banana-nutella waffle, and rocky road waffle. And still there are the chili-con-carne waffle, nacho waffle, pizza waffle and bacon-with- maple-syrup waffle that can do as full meals by themselves. For thirst quenchers, there's the Pinoy iced tea with a twist - the cucumber iced tea!
Couple Wayne and Pia Congmon runs WakiWaffle. The waffle stall is named after their son Waki. This choice of a brand name, thus, has an emotional connection to them, aside from the fact that the name itself sounds happy and wacky.
