CEBU, Philippines - Vivid explosions of color and forward-thinking designs headlined the "Cebu in the Bag" launch on June 13, at the Northwing Atrium of SM City Cebu, where the metro's favorite runway models donned the red, black and white collections of Cebu's top couturiers.
The show marked the start of the biggest city-wide sale of the year (which ran from June 13 to 15) - putting the spotlight on the ever-evolving design directions of designers Edwin Ao, Albert Arriba, Protacio Empaces, Jun Escario, Arcy Gayatin, Oj Hofer, Ren Manabat, William Manahan, Yvonne Quisumbing, Philip Rodriguez, Cary Santiago and Marichu Tan-Geson.
With various creations by different designers, the "Cebu in the Bag" fashion show bore an undeniably eclectic quality - with vibrant raffia dresses, form-flattering maxis, deep v-neck fineries and sleek tuxedoes dominating the runway.
Swingy lines, boxy silhouettes, richly beaded gowns and funky patterns were also evident in a number of the presented pieces - each framed by the inimitable sensuality of feminine elegance.
As a part of the highlights of this year's Cebu Business Month, the "Cebu in the Bag" fashion show proved that all the praises, distinctions and accolades given to Cebu's designers are more than just flattery and colorful fluff - giving sound definition to how truly world-class the Queen City of the South's top couturiers are.
