All hands on deck and anchors away as premier French children's clothing line Petit Bateau finally makes waves in Cebu's fashion scene! The premier brand opened its flagship store last May 10, 2014 with a mini fashion show featuring Cebu's most prominent moms with their kids in tow clad in Petit Bateau's iconic "millearies" blue and white stripes.
Petite Bateau has been weaving high-quality clothing from its factory in Troyes, France for 120 years. They have made their mark in Europe and in neighboring Asian countries like Japan, Hong Kong, and Singapore for their classic and comfortable baby clothes, kids clothing and adult apparel. Petit Bateau prides itself in being certified by the Okeo-Tex label which guarantees that all their clothes are non-carcinogenic, non-allergenic and non-toxic for up to 36 months, so they're safe to wear even for the most sensitive skin.
Over the weekend, the Petit Bateau boutique at the 3rd floor expansion wing of Ayala Center Cebu was abuzz with activity as the launch featured Cebu's society moms wearing Petit Bateau's classic collections with their children. Restaurateur, TV personality, lifestyle and cookbook writer Kate Anzani was joined by daughters Ambra, Zuri and AlessiaValentina. Pharmacist and entrepreneur Christine Uy had daughters Cassie and Callie in tow. Designer and couturier Therese "Tet" Ko graced the runway with bubbly daughter Inara. Professional photographer and mom of two Maitina Borromeo was joined by daughters Mattea and Rocio. And completing the roster of radiant moms was former publicist and now business consultant Laurice Chongbian with two-year old Rafa. The kids and their moms strutted effortlessly in signature comfy and chic classic collections by Petit Bateau.
As moms and dads looked around, there was plenty to keep the children entertained at the kids' corner. Literally meaning "small boat" in French, the children were taught to create sailboats and other origami animals.
Hans Clifford Yao, President of Adrenaline Group of Companies, the official distributor of Petit Bateau in the Philippines, said that the brand's entry in Cebu is timely to fill the demand for high quality children's apparel. Yao also shares that the Okeo-Tex standard that Petit Bateau has adopted is the only type of cotton that is accepted in Japan and is safe even for the most sensitive skin types, so its best for infants and toddlers. Petit Bateau's collections include clothes and footwear for newborn babies and children up to 12 years old and adult apparel as well.
Known for their effortlessly chic and stylish high quality clothing that are always fun and comfortable to wear, Petit Bateau's collections have withstood the test of time and trends, having been weaving quality apparel from their factory in Troyes, France for over 120 years.
