CEBU, Philippines - For those with a sporty attitude to this season of sun, sea, sand, and wind - makeup should be less obvious. The summer temperatures are not kind enough to allow for the common bronze-plated look. To complement the clear days, more of peach and pink cream blushes do well; and, in order to imitate the effect of light on a fresh young skin, highlights and emollient textures are recommended.

A workshop on summer makeup techniques was held on April 26 at the Cebu Marriott Hotel. MAC Cosmetics flew into town celebrity makeup artist Jigs Mayuga to share his expert ideas with a select group of women.

Following are essential tricks and tips from Mayuga, to make every woman look beautiful this summer, in line with MAC's Spring/Summer 2014 Trends:

LIGHT FX

More on opalescence and shimmer. Sparkles of white, gold, silver, glitter, shimmer and frosting, adding an unreferenced, avant-garde mood to the makeup: the "super skin," as what Val Garlands calls it, can be accented.
