Weird Pastimes

Beverly Linao - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines - Everybody has their own sets of hobbies. But, did you know that there are ten people around the world who are considered to have the weirdest hobbies of all? Here's some of these people's strange pastimes.

Playing dead

The Dead Body Guy sure has a weird hobby. He likes playing dead. To let the world know his weird way to have fun, the Dead Body Guy takes photos and videos of his "play dead" stunts and posts them on his website. He says that he had always dreamt of being part of a movie or being on TV. Dead Body Guy is Chuck Lamb, 47 years old, married, with six kids.

Appearing in the background of the TV

He is from south London, and he has a lot of free time! Paul Yarrow's hobby is appearing on television. He does this every time a news camera crew sets up in a public venue. A few of his "TV appearance" included live news reports on BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and Sky News at random locations and at random times.

Giving away $10 to strangers

When Reed Sandridge lost his job, he took up a new hobby: giving away $10 every day to someone who looks as if they could use it. It should be a different person every time. This is his own way of helping others, and he does not expect anything in return. His mom is his inspiration. She always reminds him "to give back especially when you're going through tough times." On Day 94 of his "year of giving," Reed has already given away almost $1,000, handing out money during blizzards, in rainstorms, and on the sunniest of days. Where does he get money to give away? From his savings and his unemployment benefits. Some of the folks he gives money to use it to help others as well.

Mooing

Austin Siok, a ten-year-old kid has got a talent: mooing. He even won at an annual mooing contest at the Wisconsin State Fair because of his weird hobby of mooing, which sounds like a real cow. He bested over 80 other contest participants.

Collecting Pills

Ecstasy pill collection is a Dutch man's weird hobby. He has spent two decades collecting Ecstasy pills of all colors and shapes. He already has a 2,400-pill-strong collection. Unfortunately, in 2009 the entire collection was stolen. He reported the theft because the collection has 40 poisoned pills, which might harm anyone who swallows it. The Dutch man remains unidentified.

Whether these hobbies are a result of boredom or of too much creativity, they are indeed weird. We'll find more of these strange pastimes, for next time. Or, do you have a strange or weird hobby? Let us know! (FREEMAN)
