Miscellaneous Happenings

Long before the date of the Chinese New Year came, Shangri-la Mactan Resort and Spa hosted a marvelous lunch for all the lifestyle scribes at the Tea of Spring. Lara Verdan Agua burned the wires and kept us on our toes for us not to miss this exclusive gathering.

Before we started lunch, we did the mini Yee Sang to bring good luck to us all as we shouted "Kung Hei Fat Choi!" Suddenly GM Marco Vazzoler appeared in a jiffy and greeted everyone "hi" and begged not to be able to join us since he had guests from abroad. But Communications manager Mildred Amon and Lara, assistant, stayed with us until three in the afternoon.

Over at the Cebu City Marriott Hotel, GM Patrick Carroll played host to the same group of writers over lunch at the Garden Cage. After the buffer lunch, Patrick introduced to us Cleofe Albiso, the new Director of Sales and Marketing. Of course, the efficient Charlene Go, Communications Manager, was also present and heard it told, she'll be soon tying the matrimonial knot some Springtime. Best wishes Charlene!

The staff of MSY Holding Corporation led by Special Operations Director Jewelle Yeung distributed relief goods and building materials for their shelter program in Cebu north under the aegis of its corporate social responsibility - the Mariquita Salimbangon Yeung Charitable Foundation, Inc.

Two hundred eighty seven (287) houses are targeted in Curva, Medellin, sponsored by Operation Smile International and Organique, Acai. Building materials from individual sponsors were also distributed to 110 beneficiaries in Malapascua, Daanbantayan. Four sites are in the Foundation's Shelter program to construct around 700 houses, aside from the outhouses. PTL!
