Year of the Woodeb Horse at the Marco Polo Plaza

Marco Polo Plaza began the celebration with the annual Yee Sang Tossing Ceremony which was participated in by special guests from the media and the Filipino-Chinese community. Yee Sang is known as the Prosperity Toss and it is said that the higher you toss it, the more luck you will have.

Aside from the Yee Sang ceremony on January 30, 2014, there was also the traditional lion and dragon dance at the hotel to bring in more good fortune. There was also the traditional tossing of coins and a firecworks display. The same ceremony also took place on the morning of January 31.

From Janaury 27 to Februayr 3, 2014, guests experienced “A Taste of China” and indulged in sumptuous Chinese dishes at Miele Guide’s 5th Best restaurant in the country. The food fest highlighted authentic Chinese dishes like Eight Treasure Bean Curd Soup, Beef Steak in Beijing Leek’s, Bean Curd with Seafood, Salted Black bean Sauce and Roasted Duck, to name a few.

Café Marco, where every dining experience is a celebration, offers a variety of local, Asian, and Western cuisines from its show kitchens, on top of the Chinese buffet spread for this special occasion.
