CEBU, Philippines - One morning, the kittens known as Blackfoot, Whitefang and Stripe found themselves with a problem.
Like every student, they were so excited about Christmas break that they completely forgot about the homework their teacher - Brad, the world's smartest rat - left them to work on over the holidays!
Though they only had one task to accomplish, the kittens were lost with what exactly Brad's assignment was about. It said: "Write your proclamations of personal premeditations for the impending year."
Realizing that they had to work on their assignment, they went around the neighborhood, asking what a proclamation of personal premeditations for the impending year was.
"I'm not exactly sure about what Brad wants you to do, guys," said Bow-gart when the kittens asked him about the homework, "but I believe it has something to do with the New Year, since the word "year" is in it."
After getting a "clue" from Bow-gart, the kittens went to the friendly Ms Muffet next, asking her if she knew what the assignment was about.
"With the word ‘personal,’ it sounds like Brad wants you to make something that's distinctly your own, guys," said the friendly spider, who gave them another "clue".
They then went to the rowdy Bantam, asking him if he knew anything about Brad's assignment.
"It seems to me that Brad wants you to declare something - to say something to one and all and stick to it!" said the rowdy rooster."The word ‘proclamation’ says it all, if you ask me."
After going to Bantam and gaining another "clue", the kittens asked Auntie Rumble about the assignment, hoping the kind goat would have a good idea about what it was.
"The word ‘premeditation’ is not often used, little kittens, but since it is in your homework, I'm convinced that Brad wants you to make something that involves forecasts," said Auntie Rumble.
"I could be wrong, but I think Brad wants you to make some forecasts about the coming year."
Though the kittens managed to get some clues about the homework - something about the New Year that's personal and involves a declaration of forecasts - they still weren't sure what it was they were supposed to make.
They finally asked Dog-las the grumpy dog who couldn't stop laughing when he first heard them ask what he knew about it.
"Come on 'las!", exclaimed Stripe.
"Yeah," agreed Blackfoot. "Stop laughing and just tell us what Brad's homework is about."
"We really have no idea what a proclamation of personal premeditations for the impending year is," followed Whitefang.
After composing himself, Dog-las then says, "I'm sorry guys."
"I'm just amused with the homework Brad gave you over Christmas break, particularly how he obviously made it challenging for you to figure out," said the grumpy dog who was unusually cheery that day.
"Long story short - and I believe this is one homework you're bound to never forget - Brad wants the three of you to each make your New Year's resolutions lists AND stick to it!"
With Dog-las' words, the three kittens realized what a proclamation of personal premeditations for the impending year was and got busy writing their New Year's resolutions.
