CEBU, Philippines - Imperial Palace Waterpark Resort & Spa ushered the start of the holiday season last November 29, celebrating its annually anticipated Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony.

Justin Uy (president, Imperial Palace Waterpark Resort & Spa), Park Yong Jun (chairman, Imperial Palace Waterpark Resort & Spa) and Jason Uy (CEO, Imperial Palace Waterpark Resort & Spa), led The Palace's Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony this year.

As with last year's celebration, The Palace gave school supplies and gift items to elementary pupils from the Maribago Elementary School, as a way of giving back to the community. The Zapatera Chorale was present during the occasion, performing a varied selection of carols and cheer to visitors and guests.

Reno Bacolod, The Palace's head of external affairs, also announced the venue's "Book and Donate" initiative during the course of the event, which kicked off last November 15 and is slated to run for a month, to end by December 15.

The initiative is essentially a tie-up with the Red Cross Lapu-Lapu Chapter, meant to reinforce relief operations intended for the victims of super typhoon Yolanda. At its core, Imperial Palace is pledging a percentage of its bookings for the Red Cross' relief and rehabilitation programs. —(FREEMAN)
