Manila Art Cebu Caravan

CEBU, Philippines - Cebu's Qube Gallery played a pivotal role in the successful run of the first ManilArt Cebu Caravan held last September 19 to 23, living up to the annually held art festival's thrust in showcasing what's happening in the country's contemporary arts scene.

Held in Qube Gallery at the Henry Hotel, the exhibition showcased a number of works made by the region's top artistic talents, including the creations of visual artists Vidal Alcoseba, Javy Villacin, Charlie Co, Boboy Buenaventura, Wyndelle Remonde, Sam Penaso, Arturo Luz, Paco Gorospe, Azor Pascoguin, Jaime Gubaton, Addie Cukingnan, Teegee Villanueva, Amihan Jumalon, Jana Jumalon-Alano, Hersley-Ven Casero and Raz Salvarita, to name a few.

As one of ManilArt's featured pocket exhibitions, the ManilArt Cebu Caravan stood by ManilArt's aims in promoting and highlighting the aesthetic inclinations of the region's talents, offering its featured talents the opportunity to showcase their inner dichotomies as creative visionaries.

From abstract expressionist pieces to works that bear a newfound stance in the utilization of non-conventional mediums in the creation of masterpieces, the show essentially encapsulated a lot of the progressive shifts and changes taking place within the region's ever-growing artistic landscape.

As a celebration of Filipino art, ManilArt - in its five-year run - has not only taken a hand in putting the spotlight on the country's talented artists, but has also done well in  strengthening solidarity among galleries, visual artists and art groups.

This year, the ManilArt Cebu Caravan stood out as one of the annually-held art festival's inimitably unique highlights.

ManilArt 2013 will be taking place in the SMX Convention Center, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig on October 10 to 13, 2013. For more information, visit www.manilart.com
