Consular Corps Hosts Lunch for the Governor

The Consular Corps of the Philippines-Cebu Chapter, led by chair Emily Chioson, graciously hosted lunch at the Casino Español de Cebu to meet the newly-elected governor of Cebu – Governor Hilario “Junjun” Davide III. More importantly, to meet him personally and, of course, to hear him speak.

Being a new governor, barely a month and a half’s rule of the province of Cebu, the young governor has yet to feel the needs of the people. Thus, when it was time for him to speak, he heartily told the group of Consular officers and members his priorities…that the province is in dire need of hospitals especially some towns and component cities of Cebu. In fact, the town of Daanbantayan, right now, needs an ambulance to bring patients to the city whenever emergency arises.

Since the governor is a hard-working servant of his people, he sincerely apologized to the Consular Corps for his not having dressed properly as he just came from the center where the provincial officials extended help to the victims of the recent sea mishap. God bless you, Governor!
