CEBU, Philippines - If there is one thing we Filipinos have in common, it is our enduring relationship with food. The average Filipino consumes a sizeable fare of breakfast, brunch, lunch, merienda (snack), and dinner on a day-to-day basis. Our passion for food is incontestable, from raw food to cooked or preserved. Our gastronomic adventure does not end with a bowl of rice and three kinds of viands. Our palate is always curious to sample unique tastes and flavors! —the reason why Lai Garden Restaurant has evolved from fine dining restaurant into a more personal and casual setting, in order to bring out the foodie in every Filipino even on the run.
Inspired by the fast-paced life inside a dynamic mall setting, at present, Lai Garden Restaurant is undergoing essential conversion. “Now, it’s all about the bare essentials; quality food and flavorful ingredients without sacrificing the diners’ valuable time,†explained restaurant manager Rocky Felicario.
“‘Lai Garden Restaurant’ is originally developed for fine dining, nestled inside SM City Cebu North wing, where people mostly are in a hurry to go shopping, or watch movies. We decided to convert the fine dining place into a fast-food setting to allow mall-goers to fully satisfy their quest for good food instead of worrying about their every single time wasted in waiting for food orders or tipping servers. With this new dining approach, food and ingredients are ready-made in our newly acquired state-of-the-art commissary with machines to simplify and make food preparations faster.†Felicario further explained.
