The 2013 search for Outstanding Filipino Women
CEBU, Philippines - There’s always a good side of every Filipino Women, may it be in the field of social and cultural development, arts and music, literature, medicine, journalism, etc. These women may have the capacity to excel as leaders in their own respective fields.
The Outstanding Women in the Nation’s Service (TOWNS) Foundation Inc. are in search for the outstanding Filipino woman who continuously serves her fellow citizens and as well as her country. The search is for identifying outstanding Filipino women who have contributed positively to the nation, excelling as leaders in their own respective fields.
Any person, organization, or entity may nominate one or more women who meet the following criteria:
1. Aged between 21 and 45 years old by October 2013
2. Filipino citizen
3. distinguished in her field of specialization
4. possesing a well balanced personality that is worthy of emulation
5. committed to the promotion of well being and upliftment of the Philippines and Filipinos
6. with a pioneering spirit as evidenced by projects that she has initiated in the service of our country
Nominations for TOWNS 2013 Awards shall be received from different individuals and organizations through the TOWNS Secretariat. Nomination Forms may be obtained and submitted to the TOWNS Secretariat or email at [email protected] and must be received, postmarked, or hand-carried before August 9, 2013. Forms can also be sent to any of the Metrobank branches nationwide.
TOWNS awardees are expected to continue their excellent work as leaders and continue to be a true role model for every Filipino Citizens. All TOWNS Awardees become automatic members of TOWNS Foundation, Inc.
Many Outstanding Women from different places in the Philippines were already awarded by the TOWNS Foundation for their excellence among them: Kara C. David in the field of Broadcast Journalism (2010), Maria A. Ressa in the field of Media (2007), Cecilia O. Drillon in the field of Journalism (2004), Maria Victoria M. Abesamis in the field of Medicine (2001), Jessica A. Soho in the field of Broadcast Media (2001). The award is given every three years during the last week of October and the search for the outstanding women is held nationwide for a period of one year.
TOWNS Foundation was incorporated to support and harness the talent and capacities of the TOWNS awardees, as members. It is also a national organization of dynamic and effective women who by their common shared activities help transform the lives of Filipinos. (FREEMAN)
