Additional Cornea specialist joins Aces Eye Team

In light of constantly improving their services, the ACES team has brought in the valuable knowledge and expertise of Dr. Myra Vita Ocubillo.

Dr. Ocubillo specializes in the cornea, the transparent tissue that forms the front part of the eye. Many diseases of the cornea can lead to vision loss, and these conditions are often only treatable by a qualified specialist.

Following stellar academic performance, Dr. Ocubillo was admitted to the University of the Philippines as an Oblation Scholar, being one of the top 50 applicants to the University nationwide. Within two years she received her pre-medical degree in BS Basic Medical Sciences in 1995 and her Medical Degree, also from the University of the Philippines, in 1998.

Having completed her residency training in Ophthalmology at the University of the Philippines-Philippine General Hospital, Dr. Ocubillo subsequently became a Diplomate of the Philippine Board of Ophthalmology in 2003.

She received her fellowship training in Cornea and External Diseases at the Philippine General Hospital in Manila in 2004 and at the Sydney Eye Hospital in Australia in 2006.

Dr. Ocubillo has been in private practice since returning to Cebu and is actively involved in the teaching of local ophthalmology residents, medical students, and optometry students. As a part of ACES Eye Referral Clinics, she joins a team of pioneering and highly qualified doctors specializing in fields ranging from glaucoma to pediatric ophthalmology.
