Comedy Queen Ms. Ai Ai delas Alas gets a new endorsement as the brand ambassador of APCA or Academy of Pastry and Culinary Arts Philippines under Treston International College.

During the height of the pandemic two years ago, Ai Ai enrolled in the 12-week course at APCA. Baking, said Ai Ai, was a good stress reliever for her aside from the fact that she loves it.
“It is hard to explain the kind of fulfillment I get from baking pero pag passion mo ito you will enjoy every minute of it,” Ai Ai shared to the media members who attended the face-to-face press conference at Treston International School.
To be fair, one of the chefs in APCA who was Ai Ai’s professor, said that the actress was a diligent student. There were 12 of them in the class and Ai Ai was among the top 8 students in her batch.
“May mas magaling naman kaysa sa akin but kinarir ko talaga ang mga lessons ko because I want to be good at it as well,” she said.
After her graduation, Ai Ai practiced what she learned by baking ube pandesal, which she gave away to friends.
“I had a great time when I was in school because I enjoyed myself so much although I must admit na may mga ginawa ako roon na aminado ako na hindi ako good enough compared to the others,” Ai Ai humbly admitted.
She urges people who love baking and pastry-making to enrol in APCA, adding that the tuition fee is not that pricey but just right.
“Kaya lang naman lumalaki ang gastos pag nagbi-bake na kayo kasi you have to buy the ingredients. But the tuition fee is very affordable,” she said.
Ai Ai, who is now based in the US, also disclosed that her contract under the Kapuso Network had just been renewed for another two and a half years.
She considers being the endorser of APCA and the renewal of her contract with GMA as blessings from the Lord.

If not for the documentary “Hulagway”, which was directed by Ateneo professor and award-winning filmmaker Alvin Yapan, actress Sue Prado would not have discovered the sad reality that a lot of our local dialects are dying or are near extinction.
At the press preview of “Hulagway” held the other day at Cinema 76 Anonas, Sue shared it was a fascinating discovery to know that we have a very rich history of language which is now dying because there’s no one who can help propagate it for the benefit of the new generation.
The research took Sue and Direk Alvin to Isabela and Palawan where they met the very few who still know the language. When this project was first mentioned to her by Direk Alvin, she immediately got interested with it because it entails a different kind of research.
“We hope we can do more research of this kind and share our discoveries thru a documentary because it is very important for a rich part of our language be preserved and passed on to the next generation,” said Sue.
Sue and Direk Alvin hopes that “Hulagway” will be shown in schools in various parts of the country to make everyone informed on the importance of preserving our native languages which, as shown in the docu, only very people are aware of.
