“Finding Daddy Blake,” the newest film of award-winning director Joselito Altarejos, was formally launched on Monday, February 7.

A co-production venture of Altarejos’ 2076 Kolektib and Marc Cubales Productions, the story is based on a recent story on Twitter in which netizens meet a scammer who promises good-looking guys a big amount of money in exchange for their intimate videos.

The movie also features critically acclaimed actress Rita Avila; 2021 FAMAS, Gawad Tanglaw and Gawad URIAN’s Best Supporting Actress awardee Dexter Doria; 3rd Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino Best Supporting Actor awardee Gio Alvarez; FACINE International Film Festival Best Actor awardee Oliver Aquino; Riverside International Film Festival (California, USA) Best Actor awardee Carlos Dala; theater actor Jonathan Ivan Rivera, and a batch of fresh talents.

Carlos plays Elijah, a brooding 15-year-old who is still reeling from the death of his mother after a year. He is a young follower of social media influencer played by Jonathan Ivan Rivera.

“Finding Daddy Blake” will hit theaters and other global streaming platforms soon.

From Denise O’Hara, Gawad Urian 2019 Best Director, comes a steamy adult drama movie “The Wife”, starring versatile actress Louise delos Reyes, with Diego Loyzaga and breakthrough artist from “Pornstar 2” and “Palitan”, Cara Gonzales. It will premiere this February 11 exclusively on Vivamax.

Louise is Mara, the soft-spoken wife of Cris (Diego). Their marriage turns sour when Cris cheats on her with his ex-girlfriend, Lee (Cara Gonzales), an aggressive and outspoken woman, the total opposite of Mara. But as the couple learns to recuperate from their broken relationship, Cris is diagnosed with cancer.

“The Wife” reflects on how long one should fight for marriage despite infidelity. And in faithfully committing to the marriage vow of being together in sickness and in health, how would the lawful spouse accept a dying plea that involves the mistress?

O’Hara believes her stars did very well. “I am happy with the willingness of my stars to work with each other and come up with a good film. My stars all acted well,” she said.

Louise said she will fight for her love if placed in a similar predicament as her role. “Whatever it is that Mara did in the film, I will also do it in real life if faced with the same situation. I will fight for my husband. It is different if you are married and if your marriage has a good foundation, you will really fight for your husband.”

What is she willing to do for love? “If I see that there is still a future in the relationship, I won’t give up and if I ever I settle down in the future, I will do my best to become a good wife,” said Louise.

Ruru Madrid is being groomed to be GMA Network’s next big star. The actor feels blessed and thankful that GMA and Sparkle (the new name of GMA Artist Center now being headed by Mr. Johnny Manahan) has taken notice of him and believes he is ripe for a big launch.

The young actor says it is a humbling experience to be chosen since there are numerous artists who also deserve the break. Ruru recognizes the importance of never taking things for granted, that it is best to be thankful for any opportunity that will come and look at it as a way to improve himself.

“I’ve always believed that I ought to give my best in every project that is given to me and use it to learn and improve my craft as an actor. I think one way of showing gratitude is by giving your best performance as an actor. It feels good to know that everyone is glad if you have done something good.”

Ruru wants to claim that 2022 will be a better year. He wishes to prove to himself that he can do and he can learn new things that can help him as an actor and as a person. He hopes he can give back to his fans and supporters the kind of performance they expect from him.

He is the lead actor in “Lolong”, one of GMA’s upcoming projects.
