Donnalyn Bartolome’s new single goes viral
Social media sweetheart Donnalyn Bartolome just released a new single and music video titled “Di Lahat” under Viva Records and as expected, it has been trending on social media. This is her latest music release after 2018’s “Hindi Ako.”
The track, culled from her 2018 album “Surprise,” has now gone viral particularly on the popular video sharing platform YouTube. To date, “’Di Na Lahat” has close to two million views and rising since it was uploaded on YouTube the same day as the Independence Day holiday.
Donnalyn is no stranger to trending online. The pretty, pixie-sized star began her career posting trendy video challenges, doing vlogs and just basically entertaining her sizeable following on all popular platforms. Ever since she made her music debut with her first ever hit “Kakaibabe,” she has been dubbed as a social media sweetheart.
She wrote the song “Di Na Lahat” to inspire women. “I’ve heard a lot of songs that degrade women. But I want to say otherwise. Just because a woman is pretty, one would readily conclude that she is going to be a heartbreaker. Not all girls are like that,” she said.
The VIVA artist said she wanted a song that has an uplifting message and will break stereotypes.
Donnalyn was so happy when the song went viral. “I worked hard for it – writing, making good music, doing and directing the music video. I was the one who personally invited all the artists who joined me in the music video,” she said, referring to stars Nadine Lustre, Alex Gonzaga, Sue Ramirez, Yassi Pressman, and Anne Curtis who all took the time for the video shoot.
How does it feel to be a trending artist? “I am happy but nervous at the same time. Kasi the people have high expectations. When you reach a certain level, the people would want more. I am lucky that the three songs I did went viral,” said Donnalyn.
Even if she has three successful singles, Donnalyn said she is not that confident yet.
“I now have a purpose in life. When I was still young and still studying, I didn’t have a purpose. Being a trending artist made me look at life in a different perspective. Hindi ko alam what I want to become before. Now I know that I want to make people happy. I realized that making people happy is important to me. It gave me purpose,” said Donnalyn on how her life changed since she became a trending artist.
Donnalyn has a large following in social media – 4.7 million page likes on Facebook and more than 1.3 million followers on Instagram. Besides her hits “Kakaibabe,” “Pag Siya,” and “Happy Breakup,” she also produced a DIY full-length movie entitled “Happy Breakup” which she released on Youtube. To date, it has 11 million views and growing.
Donnalyn’s “Di Lahat” is available on Spotify, Apple Music and all streaming platforms. The music video, with all those star cameos, is on Donnalyn’s official YouTube channel.
