Deadma Walking director gets TV break

The buzz generated by his debut film “Deadma Walking” is doing wonders for breakthrough director Julius Alfonso. Sometime this January, Direk Julius told Star Circuit that he received an offer to direct “Sana Dalawa ang Puso.”

But he mentioned that he will give us the go signal to write about it once the deal is sealed. While he was at the press launch of “Sana Dalawa ang Puso,” he just stayed in the sidelines, not wanting to grab attention from the stars Robin Padilla, Jodi Sta. Maria and Richard Yap.

Now it can be told that he is part of the directorial team of the new morning drama series on ABS-CBN together with Rory Quintos, Mae Cruz Alviar and Efren Vilbar.

Based on the good feedback on the trailer of “Deadma Walking” and the noise created by the film which won for Edgar Allan Guzman the 2017 Metro Manila Film Festival Best Supporting Actor trophy, Direk Julius was sought for a meeting by a network executive. He was surprised to learn that he was being asked to be one of the directors of  “Sana Dalawa ang Puso” and was told to prepare since the taping will resume in a week.

“I was kind of nervous when I learned what project they are offering me. I was shocked to say the least because things happened so fast. But there was also eager anticipation on my part,” said Direk Julius.

He asked permission from Val del Rosario of Viva Artist Agency where he is under contract (he is committed to do a movie for Viva Films). Luckily, he was given the clearance by VAA to accept the job as a director of “Sana Dalawa ang Puso.” And VAA is likewise pleased with the break given to Direk Julius.

“‘Deadma Walking’ opened new doors for me. The top executive contacted me even before my debut film hit theaters. It was on the strength of the trailer and the buzz about ‘Deadma Walking’ that the top executive got interested to hire my services,” said Direk Julius.

He had worked with Jodi in an indie project titled “Migrante” so this is a reunion for him and Jodi. He was also able to direct Richard in the Felix Manalo biopic when he took over the movie after director Joel Lamangan got sick.

“This is my first time to work with Robin Padilla. He is a darling and truly a professional actor. We have a happy set and he takes instructions by heart. He has a wonderful chemistry with Jodi and Ryan Bang. He is also so sweet. He always thanks me for the beautiful and happy scenes that we do. I want to do a movie with Robin as the lead actor,” said Direk Julius.

When you first see his half naked photos, one cannot help but immediately wonder, who is this young man?

He seems oblivious to the fact that his body attracts attention. It can be best described as lean and mean and having a torso adorned with proud man nipples. When you scrutinize the body in display, he has a happy trail, that ooohlala set of hair growth below the belly button!

He is hot! Definitely, any one who gets to see his three set of photos for posterity, feels his man meat heat!

What is more striking is the expression on his face: he is committed to do the tasks of cleaning and taking good care of an automobile.

Seriously, are all car technicians or car wash boys this delicious and responsible? Is he for real or this is just one of those photo stunts?

Well, the dude in the photo is Lance Edward. No, he is not a cousin of the hunky vampire Edward Cullen nor is he distantly related to Johnny Depp’s Edward Scissorhands. He does not mind getting dirty to finish the job at hand.

He is also a singer, dancer, actor and just recently graduated with a Masters Degree in Entrepreneurship at the Ateneo de Manila University.

He shares the story behind the photos: "Yes, it is me. I believe the photo was taken when I was helping my carwash boys during our peak hours. I was not aware that a friend of mine took a picture while I was working. I was topless! My friend loves to make fun of me. You know, nobody was in the basement that time so I decided to take off my shirt. It was just too hot."

He has a home service carwash business around the Bonifacio Global City area. “I decided to create the business to serve the people who are busy,” says Lance.
