Iza Calzado on what makes love last

Iza Calzado

Iza Calzado has proven time and again that she can enthrall televiewers with her acting. In her current project, the actress is making people hate her because of how effective she is playing Grace in the top-rating Kapamilya teleserye “A Love To Last.”

People in the online chat room of “A Love To Last” are talking about how good she is in being bad and in making life miserable for Tondeng (Ian Veneracion as Anton and Bea Alonzo as Andeng).

Iza portrays Grace, the ex-wife of Ian’s character. She wants to assert her being the mother to her kids even if Ian is already married to Bea, setting more complications for the newly-wed couple.

At the recent finale press conference for “A  Love To  Last,” the main cast of the show was asked: What makes love last?

“Five years pa lang kami ni Ben (Wintle, her boyfriend) but I think after having been in several long-term relationships, I believe the secret for love to last and a love that will last, are respect, love, and trust. You should also maintain constant communication with your partner. You should also be ready to compromise at times. Plus, don’t put your expectations too high,” she said.

As for the good reviews about her acting, Iza says she finds the character of Grace “very interesting to portray.” Besides, Iza is noted for giving her all in a role. It doesn’t matter whether it’s a lead or supporting role, Iza will ensure that she gives it her best.

“I still don’t know yet what will happen to Grace’s character but I guess she has to let go if she wants to be happy. She is fighting for her right as a mother, but is she still in love with Anton? That is something that Grace has to deal with. But I really find Grace an interesting character. It’s a role that I really love,” said Iza.
