An untamed Maja Salvador in ‘Wildflower’

Present at the press conference of the new ABS-CBN teleserye “Wildflower” was Sunshine Cruz who plays the role of Maja Salvador’s mother in the series.

Very much in the news is Diego Loyzaga, the son of her ex-husband Cesar Montano with Teresa Loyzaga who posted his rant on Facebook against his dad. So when the open forum ended, Sunshine was besieged by the press to get her reaction on the issue.

Based on Diego’s post, it seems he harbors deep feelings of resentment towards his dad. As someone who is close to him, Sunshine is saddened by what is happening. She is worried about Diego and is in touch with Teresa. She said her daughters sent Diego messages to comfort him. She also sent him a text message and asked if he’s okay.

But she declined to comment on Diego’s post where he said he tested negative for drugs after five tests. She doesn’t want to get involved, although she reiterates her love for Diego and Teresa.

She was also asked to comment on Cesar’s previous Instagram post which showed him holding up three checks, with a caption that he used it to pay the tuition of her daughters with Sunshine.

“That happened a few months ago, eh, di ba? I think it’s his obligation as a father. I never denied that he’s paying for the tuition fee. It was ordered by the court, actually,” said Sunshine.

Asked if it was right to post it on social media, Sunshine threw back the question to the press. “What do you think, guys? I cannot answer, eh. So kayo na lang ang bahalang magsalita if it’s right or wrong.”

Sunshine plays the role of Camia in “Wildflower” which will start airing on Monday, February 13. It is under the direction of Onat Diaz, Raymond Ocampo and Cathy Camarillo under the production unit headed by Ruel S. Bayani.

Also in the cast of “Wildflower” are Joseph Marco, RK Bagatsing, Vin Abrenica, Tirso Cruz, Wendell Ramos, Christian Vasquez and Aiko Melendez.

Is there a wild side to Maja Salvador? “Yes, there is,” the award-winning actress said at the presscon of her latest ABS-CBN TV series titled “Wildflower.”

She says she will reveal her wild side via her role. “It is very challenging for me to be wild,” said Maja who has three leading men in RK Bagatsing, Vin Abrenica and Joseph Marco.

“I am not wild in real life. I can still control myself, but in this series I will surprise everyone with my portrayal.”

Maja as Ivy will be tamed by love. As to who among RK, Vin and Joseph will be able to tame Ivy’s heart is for the audience to find out.

Even if Aiko called Maja as the best actress of her generation, she said the ample support given to her by her co-stars enabled her to give her best.

“It is heartening when you hear your fellow actors commend you for a good performance. It feels good to be appreciated for a job well done. But I willing to learn more from my co-stars with every show that I do. I just want to give my best always.”

Maja also disclosed that she is very much excited to work with her three leading man. “I know that I can also learn a lot from them as we go along working in the series,” she said.

“Wildflower” marks Maja’s much awaited comeback on television after the highly-successful series “Bridges of Love.” This tells the story of Ivy, a woman who would do everything to avenge her parents’ deaths brought about by a powerful political clan.

Everything will work out as planned, until Ivy crosses paths with her long-lost friend Diego Ardiente Torillo (Joseph Marco). How will Diego affect Ivy’s plan to avenge her family? Will she get the justice she is looking for? Is there a chance for forgiveness and love in Ivy’s heart?
