Why watch ‘Saving Sally’?
Prior to doing “Saving Sally” ten years ago, Enzo Marcos was taking a course in Technical Theater as he wanted to become a director. He said it was great to be on an actual set every day.
For the reshoot in 2010, he was already working on various TV projects for GMA-7. He was also doing music videos and corporate AVPs.
How did he become the character named Marty? “I auditioned for it. My mentor (Pancho Esguerra) was dating Charlene at the time (they are now married) and he told me about the project. I was immediately interested because I loved Avid's work,” he said.
Watching the film now, Enzo said it felt very weird to see a younger version of himself. It was like clicking on the “On This Date” button on Facebook.
Is Marty still very much a part of you nowadays?
“I guess you could say that I’m still pursuing my dream, trying to reach my goals.”
What were your first impressions of Rhian Ramos?
“I was intimidated, but she eased the tension right away. She’s great to work with.”
How do you explain your on-screen chemistry?
“We’re good friends and I think that can be seen when we’re on screen.”
Doing all the tours and TV guest appearances now and seeing your young persona in newspapers, how does it feel?
“It's funny. People don’t recognize me anywhere. The first reactions are always about my hair or lack thereof.”
Is your son aware that you are Marty in “Saving Sally” and what was his reaction?
“My son’s name is Marty. I made him watch the film and he said ‘Dada, you’re movie Marty. I’m real Marty. Ok?’”
Why should people watch the movie?
“People should watch it because it is a labor of love from Avid and Rocketsheep. I say this all the time, but they really did pour their souls into this film. What else can you ask for? On a simpler level, people should watch because it’s a love story. Something everyone can relate to.”
What can you not forget about this movie?
“It’s the whole experience. I love that this is happening. I’m never going to forget it.”
Get ready to be dazzled and mesmerized, children, millennials, and the young-at-heart. “Saving Sally” will make you want to believe in love, comic books and the monsters in our heads all over again.

Even if former Leyte Rep. Martin Romualdez is no longer part of Congress, there is one law that he filed and which was passed this year that will make his name a part of history. The said law is the Expanded PWD Benefits and Privileges Act or Republic Act No. 10754 which was approved March 23, 2016. The implementing rules and regulations were signed last December 2 by DSWD Secretary Judy Taguiwalo.
The former Leyte representative and his wife Rep. Yedda Marie Romualdez met with the members of the entertainment press in a Christmas party cum get-together to express their gladness regarding the benefits that the law can give to PWD (Persons with Disability).
These benefits include VAT exemption and 20 percent discount on specific goods and services. This might increase to a 32 percent discount including VAT exemption. That is a huge benefit for our PWD consumers. The former congressman revealed during the presscon that he has a soft spot for PWDs because he has a cousin who is a special child.
That’s why when he became a congressman, he looked for ways to help PWDs. So he thought of pushing for this law that would benefit the PWD populace.
He ran for Senate last May but was not lucky to be elected and it is his wife who took over his post in Congress as the representative of the first district of Leyte. Now, he serves as his wife’s assistant and consultant. He is willing to extend help in any way he can.

A Kapuso actor is packing his bags and is said to be going “ober da bakod”—to the Kapamilya network. A lot of people were surprised with the move of the actor because he promised to remain a Kapuso forever.
To be fair to the actor, he became a loyal Kapuso ever since he joined the network. The Kapuso network took good care of him by giving him good TV projects.
We wonder what could have made him decide to leave the Kapuso network? His well-meaning friends have told him not to burn bridges but rather maintain a good relationship with the network.
