Zac Efron buffs up for ‘Baywatch’

CEBU, Philippines - Zac Efron breaks out the big guns and is almost too hot for words on the June 2016 cover of Men’s Fitness magazine.

The 28-year-old actor showcases his ridiculously sculpted biceps while wearing a tight T-shirt. Efron has been working out hard for his role in the upcoming “Baywatch” movie, as seen in equally as hot photos of him on set. He is currently promoting his newest film, the comedy sequel “Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising.”

“Right now I’m probably the physically strongest I’ve ever felt,” said Efron. “Not in terms of bench press or how much I can squat, but in how quickly I could get out of this room and destroy everything in my path.”

“If the zombie apocalypse happened right now,” he said, “I’d definitely be able to defend myself.”

How did Efron get such a sick bod? Working out like a beast, obviously, five or six days a week and often twice a day.

Efron also eats a strict, low-carb diet devoid of processed food most of the time. This includes drinking concoctions made out of mangos, coconuts, lemongrass, coconut water, virgin coconut oil, Epic protein and almond milk—as dictated by his on-set nutritionist—as well as at least 100 ounces (12.5 cups) of water a day.

“I am a firm believer in not eating chemicals and really, really trying to isolate where your food is coming from,” Efron said in a behind-the-scenes video of his Men’s Fitness cover shoot.

Efron reached five percent body fat after just 12 weeks of training, his personal trainer, Patrick Murphy, told Men’s Fitness.

However, despite being one of the hottest actors around, Efron has his moments of negative self-reflection.

‘I step back and look at myself and I still want to kick that guy’s ass sometimes,” Efron muses about his former self. “Like, [expletive] that guy. He’s done some kind of cool things with some cool people—he did that one thing [‘Neighbors’] that was funny—but, I mean, he’s still just that kid from ‘High School Musical.’” (FREEMAN)
