The gothic world of 'Crimson Peak'

CEBU, Philippines – Actress vows to sue director for libel, physical abuse. For calling a neophyte actress “unprofessional,” an independent filmmaker could face several lawsuits involving his own alleged abusive behavior on the set of a film they both worked on.

The Filipino sister act 4th Power continued their scintillating journey on the UK edition of “X Factor” on Sunday with a performance that blew away the audience and the judges.

Rita Ora called their rendition of Christina Aguilera’s “Show Me How You Burlesque” as “absolute perfection.”

Even more mesmerized was the notoriously finicky Simon Cowell, who enthusiastically stood up and applauded Mylene, Celina, Irene and Almira Cercado’s performance and called it “amazing.”

He even joked about poaching the sisters from fellow judge Cheryl Fernandez-Versini, mentor of the Group category. “How would you girls like to join the Overs category?” quipped the former  “American Idol” judge.

“I think you need some help in terms of  the music you should be singing, but I am thrilled you have chosen this show, this country to compete in. I think the British public are going to fall in love with you,” Cowell said.

Versini played coy before offering 4th Power a chair. She told the girls, to their momentary consternation, “I don’t think that you’re amazing… I think you’re phenomenal!”

The quartet’s successful audition six weeks ago met some negative reaction in the British press, who questioned their amateur status. The girl group originally from Isabela province had already found success in 2010 under the names The Gollayan Sisters and The Cercados and had even released an album called “Unstoppable” that’s available in the UK.

After Sunday, however, the media seemed to share the public opinion that the four Filipinas were now the favorites to win the show. – InterAksyon.com
