CEBU, Philippines - Unfavorable weather couldn’t have dampened the excitement and enthusiasm of the guests and performers for an extraordinary event featuring five of the country’s premier theater performers at Azure Beach Club in Crimson Resort and Spa through Supper Theater. Still, it was a good thing it didn’t rain because the ocean and the moon provided the perfect backdrop.
It was a night of great food and fantastic music made special by the great musicality and charisma of Lorenz Martinez, Carla Guevara-Laforteza, Sweet Plantado, OJ Mariano and Sheila Martinez, as they sang favorite classics, mesmerizing duets and powerful group performances.
Nostalgia was in the air when the group performed official soundtracks of Disney movies. It wouldn’t have been complete though without the latest favorite, so the ladies indulged the crowd by ending their repertoire with a powerful rendition of Frozen’s “Let it Go.”
“This is an event which we are very happy to put together – the first in the region – to combine food and music in a beach club setting; and this goes to show how capable Azure Beach Club is as a venue. We’ve hosted various types of parties and events before but nothing like this yet, and this has again raised the bar in the field. We’re glad that Serulyan, Greygoose and Bacardi partnered with us to make the event a possibility,” says Kristofer Quadros, Crimson’s Resort Manager.
“What’s most important is that everyone enjoyed. And judging from the response of the guests, they had that and more; even hinting that they might be back,” Quadros added.
The evening was not only about music because any visit in Azure Beach Club is never complete without its food and drinks. Guests enjoyed the latest offerings from Azure’s menu including wood show grilled marinated tuna collar with lemongrass miso glaze, wood oven baked white fish with nori garlic butter, brown rice chicken biryani, wok fried spicy quinoa and cauliflower bits, rock scallops with azure xo sauce and braised lamb shank with red wine masala jus. For dessert, everyone enjoyed the citrus collection made up of five yummy bites of lemon cream, candied pineapple and orange, yoghurt meringue, apple strudel and vanilla panna cotta. (PR)
