CEBU, Philippines - ABS-CBN is set to bring twice the drama as it premieres “Doble Kara” this Monday, August 24, starring the network’s Royal Princess of Drama,’ Julia Montes, in her biggest and most challenging role to date.

From her remarkable portrayals in top-caliber teleseryes such as “Mara Clara,” “Walang Hanggan,” “Muling Buksan Ang Puso,” and “Ikaw Lamang,” Julia’s star is set to shine brighter as she breathes life to twin characters Sarah and Kara.

“After doing so many roles that are not normal for my age, I can really say that this is the most challenging project that has been given to me. I have to dedicate my heart and soul for the series,” the actress shared.

“Doble Kara” will revolve around the story of Sarah and Kara, twin sisters who grew up in a happy family despite being poor. However, when Kara was diagnosed with leukemia, the twins’ mother was forced to separate the two and give Kara to her real father because they don’t have the money for her treatment.

What will Sarah and Kara do when fate brings them back together after many years? How will the sisters’ relationship change after growing up having different lives?

Under the direction of veterans Emmanuel Palo and Jon Villarin, the powerhouse cast of “Doble Kara” is composed of Carmina Villaroel, Ariel Rivera, Mylene Dizon, Gloria Sevilla, John ‘Sweet’ Lapus, Allen Dizon,  and Alora Sasam.  Also introduced in the series are Julia’s new leading men Edgar Allan Guzman and showbiz newcomer Anjo Damiles. Alicia Alonzo will also join the teleserye for a special appearance. (PR)
